Animals can be masters of disguise, often hiding in plain sight. Join us as we discover some animals who camouflage themselves in their environment. Using values and texture we will learn how to blend our subjects into their environment.
This 4-week Junior Nature Sketch course is guided by children’s book illustrator and nature sketch artist, Val Lawton. Val will cover our Nature Sketch skills using a pencil, eraser and sketchbook.
As well, we will be discussing the career and art of Canadian artist Robert Bateman, with a focus on his values, his great love for the outdoors and the impact of these on his creative processes.
All classes will be made available to stream asynchronously if you cannot make the times listed! Instructors are also available by email for individual critiques or questions outside of class time.
