This 5-week NatureSketch Richmond course is taught by artist and naturalist Bea who guides us through art fundamentals such as line drawing, understanding shapes and shading techniques, with a fresh and fun approach that will encourage budding artists to create beautiful nature sketches. Using eco-literacy principles from world-renowned artist and naturalist, Robert Bateman, we encourage participants to connect to nature through art and observation.

By the end of this course you will be able to sketch some of the various plants and animals that you come across, , draw what you see and observe, understand the basics of value, texture, light, and shadow, understand that everything is made of basic shapes, and learn some basics of nature journaling and new understandings of some animals and plants.

A sketchbook will be provided.
