This 5-week  NatureSketch course is taught  by Vancouver artist Maggie Chow who guides you through art fundamentals such as line drawing, understanding shapes and shading techniques, with a fresh and fun approach that will encourage budding artists to create beautiful nature sketches. Using eco-literacy principles from world-renowned artist and naturalist, Robert Bateman, we encourage participants to connect to nature through art and observation.

By the end of this course you will be able to sketch the plants and animals you come across in this course, draw what you see and observe, understand the basics of value, texture, light, and shadow, understand that everything is made of basic shapes, and learn some basics of nature journaling and new understandings of some animals and plants.

A sketchbook and pencil will be provided.
