This 4-week Junior NatureSketch course is taught by local Victoria artist Emma Pyle, who guides us through art fundamentals such as line drawing, understanding shapes and shading techniques, with a fresh and fun approach that will encourage budding artists to create beautiful nature sketches. Using eco-literacy principles from world-renowned artist and naturalist, Robert Bateman, we encourage participants to connect to nature through art and observation.
By the end of this course you will learn how to draw what you see and observe, understand the basics of value, texture, light, and shadow, understand that everything is made of basic shapes, how to sketch from these composite shapes, and learn some basics of nature journaling and new understandings of some animals and plants.
A pencil and sketchbook will be provided
At the end of the program students have the opportunity to submit their art to be put up in the NatureSketch Gallery.
Instructor will email students with finalized details a few days ahead of class.
