Watercolours are unique because of their transparency, luminosity, and brightness. The paint pigments are diluted making the paint more transparent, the thin layers make beautifully bright colours. Nature presents in an incredible variety of colours, shapes, patterns, and lights, and is a great source of inspiration, and for this class: flowers and floral designs.
This 4-week Floral Watercolour Painting Online course is taught by Vida Akef, who will guide you through the theory and principles of watercolour painting and how to apply them to flowers and floral designs.
Class 1 – Nov 23: Watercolour tips and techniques colour mixing
Class 2 – Nov 30: Painting a Red rose
Class 3 – Dec 7: Painting a Magnolia
Class 4 – Dec 14: Painting Blue Hydrangea
By the end of this course you will learn and develop the basic skills of watercolour painting, you will make paintings of three different flowers and study the techniques and how to apply them to each different flower, and how to make it’s stems, petals, thorns, buds, leaves, and intricate colours.
At the end of the program students have the opportunity to submit their art to be put up in the NatureSketch Gallery.
Instructor will email students with finalised details a few days prior to the beginning of the class.
All online classes can be watched later if you cannot make the times listed! Instructors are also available by email for individual critiques or questions outside of class time.
